Appeal for return of hospital equipment launched

An appeal has been launched for the return of mobility aids and rehabilitation equipment to Tauranga Hospital.

"As the year comes to an end please assist us by clearing out your cupboards and returning any equipment no longer used," said Tauranga Hospital Physiotherapy Team Leader Gary McNicholl.

"Crutches and walking frames are the most common items not to be returned but over-toilet frames and wheelchairs are also high on the list.

"The loss of the equipment, loaned out to people to aid their recovery, could have health implications for other patients," added Gary.

Equipment can be left in the 'return area' at Tauranga Hospital's front reception or at the Physiotherapy Department.
