Front doors of Tauranga Hospital to close

Front doors of Tauranga Hospital to close overnight to allow new vinyl to be laid.

From Tuesday 6 June at 8pm in the evening, contractors will be laying new vinyl in the Tauranga Hospital main corridor.   The contractors will continue working through the night finishing around 6am.  As the work will take several nights to complete, the front doors will be closed each night at 8pm (2000 hours) and open at  6am (0600 hours).

To come into the hospital, security guards will be available to escort visitors to the lifts.  Posters informing visitors how to contact security will be attached to the front doors. When visitors are ready to leave the hospital after their visit, security guards will be stationed at the lifts on the ground floor and will escort visitors back to the front entrance.  If visiting you may need to allow extra time.

As no work is being done during the day,  access to the lifts, the pharmacy and the café will not be affected. The closure is only between 8pm (2000 hours) and 6am (0600 hours).

The Eftpos machine in the main corridor will  be removed on Tuesday 6 June and will be reinstated on Wednesday 14 June.  The vending machines will be relocated to outside HIA by the back door.
