This is a new position that will be based at Whakatane Maternity Unit but will also have a community clinical aspect to it.

The suitable candidate will have a current IBELC qualification or else be working towards one, have initiative to work unsupervised but produce the necessary reports to support the work being done and support the breast feeding stats.

Duties will include:

Breast feeding support and education for the mothers.
Breast feeding support and education for the staff and LMC Midwives.
Liaise with the BFHI Co-ordinator from Tauranga to ensure all the staff education and documentation is up to date for certification.
Initiate and run community clinics.
Initiate community breast feeding support groups.
