We have positions available for several consultant physicians within the Department of Medicine at the Bay of Plenty District Health Board.   We provide subspecialty services in diabetes, endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, renal, infectious diseases, haematology, rheumatology, oncology, geriatrics, neurology, respiratory and rheumatology, serving a population of 200,000 through Tauranga & Whakatane hospitals.

Positions are primarily based in Tauranga which is a fantastic part of the world to live, work and play.  There is something here for everyone!

Applicants must hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.

Medical Oncologist
This is a full time position providing general medical oncology care to both inpatients and outpatients based at Tauranga hospital. The successful applicant will become part of a growing medical oncology department with an excellent established chemotherapy suite and medical oncologist. A new haematologist is joining the service in May. Several of the cancer specialists from Waikato Hospital, tertiary hospital 150 km away, also provide regular clinics here.

Renal Physician
This is a full time position providing  supervision of patients on established treatment modalities (both hospital and home), outpatient clinics and supervision of transplant patients. You will be working closely with your colleagues in Waikato Hospital.
