Permanent Health Warnings.

Water quality can change quickly, especially in waterways which feed from large catchments. When a recreational bathing site is found to be regularly contaminated and unsuitable for bathing most of the time, permanent health warning signs are erected by the local authority. Currently the following water ways have permanent health warnings in place:

Tauranga Region

2 Mile Creek, Waihi Beach
3 Mile Creek, Waihi Beach
Greerton Park, Waimapu Stream

There are no permanent health warnings in the Eastern Bay of Plenty or Rotorua.
