Toi Te Ora
is a provider of high quality public health services that influence environments
to protect and promote the health of the population and reduce inequalities
in health status. "Toi Te Ora" suggests the idea of enduring well being.
Toi is also the name of a celebrated ancestor in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Public Health is
the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting
health through organised efforts of our society.
Toi Te Ora - Public Health's mission is to promote,
protect and improve the health of all people living in the Lakes and Bay of Plenty
districts by delivering collaborative, innovative, effective and sustainable public health programmes

be launched in the coming months that will explain the role of Toi Te Ora
- Public Health in implementing public health,
its structure, the public health programmes undertaken and the goals that are strived
for by this.
